mountain to the sea

We have been learning about the mountain to the sea. We made a google slide and asked questions which we found answers too. I have made a google draw to show some of the facts I learnt.

Geometry

We have been doing geometry. This is my geometry sample. I have learnt how many corners, faces and edges 3D shapes have. I have also learnt how to give coordinates for maps.

A jellyfish is a phylum cnidaria.

Jellyfish have long tentacles and a round head. They can be different colours. Sometimes they can be see through as well.

Jellyfish eat fish, fish eggs and little plants and plankton.

Jellyfish live in the deep sea and sometimes shallow parts of the lake.                           

Jellyfish give birth on the ocean floor as deep as possible. Sometimes alone.

A group of jellyfish is called a bloom or a swarm.

Today we had Greats and Grands day. We did a little performance for the grandparents and did jump jam. After that we had morning tea and showed the grandparents our learning. I was sad because my grandparents couldn't make it but I still had a great time. I loved the morning tea.

Pikelet Explanation

We have been learning how to write explanations. I have written an explanation to explain how to make pikelets.

Making yummy pikelets

Have you ever wondered how to make a pikelets?

First sift the flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl.

Secondly in another bowl beat the egg and sugar with a whisk until pale and thick.

Next  add the egg mixture and the milk to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.

After that gently heat a nonstick frying pan and drop tablespoonfuls of the mixture from the point of the spoon onto the surface.

Finally when the bubbles start to burst on the top of the pikelets, turn them over and cook the second side until golden. Place in a clean tea towel to cool.

That is how to make pikelets.

                 Matua-Ken taught us what sea creatures were in Te Reo Maori.

I have liked learning Maori because it was done in a fun way through games.

Erupting Volcano

Here is my moment in time about the erupting volcano.

Sizzle! Sizzle! The lava tumbled down the volcano. Crash! The red and yellow lava smashes everything. The smoke is as gray as the rain clouds. The lava bubbles like bubbles in a bath. When the lava gives up it turns into rock.
